How to choose a log home manufacturer

There are many factors to consider when choosing a company to manufacture and build your log home. At True North Log Homes, we believe that the best customer is a well-informed customer. Our award winning plan book provides the most important questions you should be asking when choosing a log home manufacturer. Please refer to pages 206-207.

Do your research

You should enjoy your log home for centuries. One of the benefits of purchasing a True North log home is the patented technology which ensures that our homes will stand the test of time.

What sets True North Log Homes apart?

Wood will constantly expand, contract and try to bow or twist as it acclimatises. Since we don’t use traditional log joinery such as nails, lag bolts or screws, the log walls in our homes will self-adjust individually while remaining secured tightly with a 2,500 lbs. compression spring via our patented LogLock Compression System®. This system operates in conjunction with our Six Seal System Patented Tongue and Groove System® and Patented KeyLock Air Seal Corner®.

About Our Technology

Round logs or milled logs?

True North Log Homes manufactures milled logs. Milled and round log homes, albeit both made of wood, are built very differently. By milling our logs at our factory in Bracebridge, Ontario, we effectively create an airtight log wall system and offer the world’s first “Zero” Air Infiltration Warranty, with no caulking or chinking ever!

A Double “D” log profile will give you the feeling of a round log with the benefits of a milled one (picture two “D’s” back-to-back).
